I grew up in a musical household during the 60s and 70s which featured literally everything ranging from European classical, jazz, blues, r&b, rock and roll, country, easy listening, and popular music.  My love for jazz in particular burgeoned during my teenage years due to an Anchorage, Alaska radio station with a variety album format (which included a healthy dose of the jazz that was in vogue at the time).

 

It has been a lifelong dream of mine to communicate my love of music in general and specifically of jazz to a wide audience.  I truly believe that particularly in these divisive times that music can be a great unifier when other things--religion, politics, and education--have either failed or have even exacerbated conditions.  I see my show Exploration as a way to entertain, educate, and enliven my generation and those that follow with the exciting musical world of jazz and its very close cousin jazz fusion.  The Jazz Forum Plus gives me an opportunity to continue what started at an Atlanta community radio station just over 7 years ago.
